Amanda Pruett, DO

Dr. Pruett graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton Florida in 2010 and completed her osteopathic rotating internship in 2011 at Peninsula Hospital Center, Queens, NYC. She also completed four years of general surgery training at the University of North Carolina Hospitals and Hackensack Meridian Hospital NJ, and a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant.

She will be practicing full-time as a family physician at Ashland Health Center and working in the Emergency Department as well. Her primary clinical work is focused on prevention of disease with a strong focus on lifestyle modification to promote better health. Her professional interests include scientific research and practicing evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Pruett grew up in Northeastern Kansas before moving away for her education and is excited to relocate closer to her large extended family. Dr Pruett will live in Ashland full-time and enjoys slalom water skiing, free diving, western horseback riding, auto racing, gardening, traveling, baking, spending time with family/friends and crocheting. Dr. Pruett most reveres her role as an Aunt, as she has 15 nieces and nephews. She loves watching the Chiefs, Royals, and is a huge KU basketball fan. She is excited to be joining the Ashland Health Center Team.
