Physical Therapist - Director of Physical Therapy (Sign-on Bonus)

Job Relationships:

Responsible to: CEO/Administrator

Supervises: Physical Therapist Assistants and Therapy Services staff

Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with the community, all AHC departments and Medical Staff to ensure continuity of care and collaborative delivery of care.

Job Summary:

Responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and rendering physical therapy services to patients/clients of all ages who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes; provide prevention and wellness services, including screenings and health promotion. Communicate and document results of treatment including patients’ progress toward established goals according to department’s policies and procedures. The incumbent serves as a resource person for the team and the department; participates in orientation of new staff therapists, physicians and other health personnel. Demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion. The physical therapist works within practice guidelines as defined by Kansas state law.

Job Qualifications:

Experience:

• A strong sense of empathy, a compassionate outlook on PT and the ability to motivate patients into pushing their limits in a responsible, safe way.
• Proven record of matching patient needs to treatment plans and proven record of implementing these plans safely and effectively.
• Must have professional or civic leadership experience.
• Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients, personnel, and support agencies.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills. (ability to speak Spanish is preferred).
• Must have the desire/ability to learn clinic software appropriate for the position.

Education:

• BS, Master’s Degree, or Doctor of Physical Therapy from a physical therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Certificates and Licenses:

Physical Therapy license with Kansas Board of Nursing. BLS Certification.

Physical Therapy Assistant (Sign-on Bonus)

Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with physical therapist & therapy services team members, nurse managers, nursing personnel, medical staff, other department managers and personnel, patients/families and the public.

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting the physical therapist in providing physical therapy services to patients/clients of all ages who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes according to the established plan of care while under the supervision of a physical therapist. Communicate and document results of treatment including patients’ progress toward established goals according to department’s policies and procedures. The incumbent serves as a resource person for the team and the department; participates in orientation of new staff and other health personnel. The incumbent participates in teaching activities for physical therapist assistant students and other health related students. The physical therapist assistant works within practice guidelines as defined by Kansas state law.

Job Qualifications:

Associate of Science degree and completion of an APTA accredited physical therapist assistant program.

Certificates and Licenses:

Current certification/licensure by the State of Kansas upon successful completion of the State Board of Healing Arts Licensure Examination. Valid driver’s license with available transportation and proof of current automobile liability insurance. Current CPR certificate.
