EVS and Laundry Aide (Sign-on Bonus)

Interrelationships:

            • Works cooperatively with all AHC departments and Medical Staff to ensure a clean and safe environment in the health center & Rural Health Clinic.

Job Summary:

The environmental service worker maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures of the health care center. The position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the facility. The position distributes and tracks clean linens to user departments and maintains stock levels on nursing floors. The position follows standard practices and procedures and complies with regulatory requirements. The incumbent also tends to laundering facility linens and resident’s personal items. Loads clothing/linens into washer and adds specified amount of detergent or other cleaning agents. Lifts clean, wet items from washer and places them into dryers for measured time cycles. Sorts dry items, folds and places items in appropriate storage shelves or resident rooms.

Job Qualifications:

Able to give accurate and timely room service. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods. Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials. Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment. Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend.
