Family Medicine
James Moffit, MD
Dr Jim Moffitt grew up in north central Kansas. The youngest of 7. Fourth generation family in Washington County helping with wheat, hay, row crop and livestock. Out of high school, I attended McPherson College then transferred to Kansas State University. After completing a Master of Science Education I applied to KU School of Medicine graduating from medical school in 1998. Completed Family Medicine residency at Wesley hospital in Wichita. Started practice in Dodge City May of 2001.
Jim and his wife, Deb, have 4 grown children. Raising them in Ford County going to school in Cimarron. We encouraged our kids to explore sports and education. Deb is an LSCSW that provides psychotherapy in solo practice. Deb and I grew up in the Church of the Brethren ( very similar to Mennonite ). We continued the New Testament teaching with our children and also apply those principles to how we practice.
Moving to Ashland to the ranch we now own was a long time dream of ours. This year I was given the freedom to share my skills through Ashland Health Center. My passion in health care is helping young families grow through medical care and guidance. I believe the only way to care for individuals and families is by treating the whole person, including their spiritual needs. I freely share my Christian values with anyone who will listen. My other strength is Emergency medicine. Being only 2 miles from the hospital makes it so that when I am available, on call or not, I will be able to help in times of crisis. We are excited to become more a part of the community where we believe God has lead us.
